I'm a huge video game fan, and I've listed a few of my favorites below. These are games I've played and loved, and I hope you enjoy them too!

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (XBOX 360 & PC)

NOTE: The link to the left is for the XBOX 360 collector's edition (the version I have), but it is also available for PC (in collector's and standard editions).

Oblivion is a single-player (action) role playing game. It is set in a beautiful high-fantasy world with ogre's, minotaurs, the walking dead, and a whole lot more. There are hundreds of compelling quests for you to complete. Trust me, it will keep you engaged for a long time (I've clocked in over 150 hours so far). In fact, I liked it so much I even made the Oblivion Alchemy Wizard.

ESRB Rating: T (Teen)

World of Warcraft (PC)

NOTE: This game has an additional monthly fee.

World of Warcraft (WoW) is an online role-playing game where you play with thousands of other people in a persistent fantasy world. It's beautifully crafted, and has so much for you to do and explore. It stole probably six months of my life. You've been warned.

WoW is pretty much dominating the market right now, so you can be sure there will be lots of people and new content coming for a long time to come.

Civilization IV (PC)

A turn based strategy game stretching from the dawn of man to the near-future. It has tons of depth and historical detail. You play as a historical leader and lead your civilization from a small wandering tribe to a modern nation.

What's great about Civilization is that you can play it the way you want to play. If you want to win through peace and diplomacy, you can. If you want to win through sheer military dominance, you can. Cultural dominane? Sure.

An amazing game for all you fireside generals out there.

ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)

Advance Wars: Dual Strike (Nintendo DS)

I've been a big fan of the Advance Wars turn based strategy games since they first came out on the Gameboy Advance (Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2). Dare I say, they are the perfect mobile games. You can fire it up for 2 minutes or 2 hours and then just pick up where you left off.

Dual Strike continues the goodness, and even makes nice use of the stylus for creating your own custom maps.

Resident Evil 4 (PS2 & GameCube)

NOTE: The link to the left is for the PS2 version, but it is also available for the GameCube (the version I have).

First off, this is a MATURE game. Not one for the kids. It is violent and filled with zombie goodness. Very scary, very graphic. Turn out the lights, lock your doors, and get scared.

While it is called Resident Evil 4, it is a departure from the previous Resident Evil games (but if you liked those, trust me, you'll love this one). You don't need any knowledge of the Resident Evil universe to get into this game.

ESRB Rating: M (Mature)

Eternal Darkness (GameCube)

This is one of those rare games that does something a bit new and it works. It is an action adventure game with a twist. Basically as sCaRy stuff happens you will slowly go insane (in the game, not in real life, hopefully). And when you go insane, really weird stuff starts happening in the game.

You just have to play it.

ESRB Rating: M (Mature)

Ninja Gaiden Black (XBOX & XBOX 360 Compatible)

NOTE: This is also compatible with the XBOX 360 if you have XBOX Live and the hard drive.

Pure, unadulterated ninja action. This game is slick, slick, slick. You can run along walls, use all kinds of ninja weapons, and destroy your enimies with, um, ninja magic! Tons of action, tons of fun. If you haven't played this yet and you like action games, you must play this game.

This game can be hard, but it is incredibly rewarding when you win.

Honorable Mentions

Halo, Halo 2 (XBOX & XBOX 360 Compatible)
You know about them already, right? Amazing first person shooter set in the distant future. It makes you feel like a total badass (solid online play on XBOX Live as well).

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2, PC)
Bleh, never really got into GTA, but I don't want the fan boys hunting me down (I hear they like guns).

Unreal Tournament 2004
Hm, what year is it now? Ok, yes they are going to come out with UT 2007. But that's still a ways off. Anyway, great online play. "Onslaught" was my favorite game type, combining first-person, land and air vehicles, and a little bit of strategy. Perfect.

Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 + Soaked Expansion (PC)
What could be better than building roller coasters and then getting to actually ride them in glorious 3-D? The graphics are on the cartoony side, but it doesn't take away from the experience. I highly recommend getting Soaked along with it, as it has some good bug fixes and adds really cool water park features. (There is also the Wild! Expansion that adds animal parks, but I haven't gotten it yet.)

Warcraft III + The Frozen Throne Expansion (PC)
Real-time strategy at its best (except for you Starcraft purists). Prepare to be destroyed the first time you play online. People play fast, mean, and hard.

Diablo II + Lord of Destruction Expansion (PC)
Kind of ugly by today's standards, but so much fun.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica (PS2, Dreamcast)
Old, clunky Resident Evil control scheme, but I thought this was the greatest game of all time when I played it on the Dreamcast.

Final Fantasy VII (PS1)
Using the way-back machine, here, but it was such a great game, not sure how it holds up these days, but if you played it back in the day, you know what I mean.

[Your Favorite Game Here]
I know what you're thinking. "You idiot! How come you don't have Little Miss Pretty Princess!" Well, just pretend like I put it here. I'm sure I've just forgotten to add it, and will be updating the page real soon. Really.
